Pound of Flesh: Mga Anak ng Lupa (Early Bird Registration!)
Time & Location
About the Event
A pound of flesh is not justice, but it is revenge.
This October, don’t miss Ikarus Theater Collaborative’s Pound of Flesh, an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice for a hybrid show of film and theater. Come to the province of Sidpan, where the Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines do what they must, day in and day out, to protect their property and identity. Will they find justice against scheming corporations and a corrupt government? Or will the continuous scorn force them to take matters into their own hands?
Catch Justin Ayran as Silak—chieftain of the May-i tribe, CJ Maramara as Antonio—who owes Silak a pound of flesh, and Arielle Magno as Tal’a—a binukot who is wiser than she lets on. They are joined by Renzo Jimenez, Sandra Quintela, Ahlex Leyva, Noe Blanco, and Natalia Go.
Directed by BJ Crisostomo, Pound of Flesh, Mga Anak ng Lupa divulges the truth behind the injustices faced by Indigenous Filipinos. Get your tickets today for only PHP200 (pre-selling price) until July 31st! Watch it via on-demand streaming during a limited run!
